The Beatles are preparing to open a new museum and immersive attraction inside 3 Savile Row in London, the building where the band performed its final live rooftop concert in 1969. The project, titled The Beatles at 3 Savile Row, is scheduled to open in 2027, with visitor registration set to begin through the band’s official website.
The seven-story building will feature rare memorabilia and previously unseen archive material, alongside a reconstructed basement studio where the Let It Be album was recorded. Visitors will also be able to experience an immersive recreation of the iconic rooftop concert at the original location itself.
Speaking about the project, Paul McCartney said the aim is to create an official destination for Beatles fans in London. He noted that visitors often gather outside the Abbey Road crossing without being allowed inside, causing constant congestion in the area.
Details
The historic building, listed as a Grade II protected property, served as the band’s headquarters between 1968 and 1972. It also remained home to Apple Corps after the group officially split in 1970.
The rooftop hosted the Beatles’ final public performance, when the band delivered a surprise 42-minute concert in January 1969 before police intervened following complaints from nearby residents and businesses.
The new project will include:
• Original exhibits and rare memorabilia
• Previously unreleased archival material
• A redesigned basement recording studio
• An interactive rooftop concert experience
• An official Beatles merchandise store
McCartney said the idea was driven by Apple Corps CEO Tom Greene, who joined the company after previously working on projects linked to the Harry Potter franchise.
Ringo Starr described returning to the building as feeling like coming home, while McCartney said the site carries extraordinary memories for the band.
What’s Next?
More details about the visitor experience and exhibition spaces are expected to be revealed in the coming months, as Beatles fans worldwide look ahead to the official opening in 2027.
