Illumination announced “Not Alone,” a new animated feature at Annecy led by Timothée Chalamet and Selena Gomez. Details:
• Chalamet plays Joe, a quiet, introverted rocket mechanic, in his first-ever voice acting role in animation. Gomez plays Fran, a brilliant astro-botanist developing the world's first plant-fueled rocket.
• The plot kicks off when three tiny, unruly aliens — Dunk, Welly and Shirm — take refuge in Joe's home while fleeing an inept intergalactic law officer named Zandro, and set their sights on Fran's rocket as their ticket home.
• The supporting cast includes Rob Brydon, Diane Morgan and Jamie Demetriou as the three aliens; Brett Goldstein as Officer Zandro; and Allison Janney and Lamorne Morris in additional roles.
